Flying from Atlanta in tiny planes, we arrive in Montreal and immediately begin our tour. Destinations include the Basilica Notre Dame and St. Joseph’s Oratory.

Our morning begins with a workshop with Professor Thomas Williams at McGill University. Next we go to Montreal Tower and the Botanical Gardens, ending with dinner at Restaurant La Vauquelin.

We depart for Ottawa where we are given a bus tour of the capital city. At noon we performed a concert at Byward Market. Dinner at Essence and listening to a Brahms concert at St. James Church.

We travel to Quebec City where we tour La Citadelle. In the afternoon we performed a concert at Theatre Periscope. Dinner at Le Petit Coin Breton.

Walking tour of Quebec City led by local guides. Visit to Montmorency Falls. Travel to Sainte-Anne to explore the Basilique St. Anne de Beaupre. We stopped by Marie’s Bread Oven and ended the day at the Sugar Shack for dinner, music, and dancing.

From May 27th through June 1st, the DeKalb Youth Symphony Orchestra directed by Mr. Earl Kuutti toured Montreal, Ottawa, and Quebec City. Mr. Kuutti led

thirty three orchestra students assisted by directors Lorene Evans and Ray A. Kuutti as well as four parents who were invaluable helping organize our orchestra.

Our tour was guided by Peggy Wilson, very knowledgeable and helpful. Our bus driver was Angie, very skilled and cheerful. The tour went extremely well. These photos serve as a record of our progress. More will be added over time.
