Walking tour of Quebec City led by local guides exploring Place Royal and the surrounding area (including Chateau Frontenac). In the afternoon we went to Montmorency Falls, taking a sky car up and hiking the bridge and stairs back down. Next we traveled to Sainte-Anne to explore the Basilique St. Anne de Beaupre, famed for its copper doors. I discovered a progression of statues ascending the hill behind the Basilica. On the way back to Quebec City we stopped by Marie’s Bread Oven for delicious bread with maple butter. The day ended at the Sugar Shack for a traditional dinner accompanied by music and climaxing with dancing followed by a maple treat.

Canada Tour 2010 - Day 5 & 6

Our final day found us traveling by bus through driving rain back to Montreal for our flight home on tiny airplanes. We presented our guide Peggy and driver Angie with gifts from the orchestra and thanked them for taking such great care of us.
